Addis Ababa, December 13 (WIC) –The Ministry of Urban Development and Construction (MoUDC) said it is to launch cadastral information registration in Addis Ababa City Administration.
Urban Development and Construction Minister Mekuria Haile and Addis Ababa University President Dr. Admasu Tsegaye signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train professionals on Land Development Management here on Tuesday.
Mekuria on the occasion said that the MoU would help train capable professionals who pursue modern system and tackle rent-seeking mentality in the sector.
As per the agreement, AAU is expected to train staff of the ministry and launch under and postgraduate programs in the sector, he said.
The ministry has already finalized preparation to launch the registration soon in two woredas in pilot phase that would be expanded to all 116 woredas of the city.
The minister said the registration would also be expanded to the regional towns.
AAU President Dr. Admasu Tsegaye on his part said AAU is working closely with various industries and sectoral offices to contribute share toward ensuring development and growth.
He said the agreement signed with the ministry is a part of that endeavor. He said the agreement would enable the university to offer practical sessions.
According to him, AAU is to establish technology center that would enable it to benefit customers from its research undertakings.
According to ERTA, the AAU is currently running 225 postgraduate programs of which 69 of them are doctorate programs.
