Addis Ababa, May 12, 2010 (Addis Ababa) The European Cultural Institutes based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia signed here Wednesday an agreement that would enable to establish the Ethiopia cluster of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC).
The signatories include Alliance Ethio-Francaise, British Council, Goethe –Institute and Instiuto Italiano Di Cultura. Representatives of the respective cultural institutes signed the agreement.
EU representative ambassador Dino Sinigallia on the occasion said the establishment of EUNIC aims at creating effective partnership and network between EU Nationals Institutes for culture.
He said the center would also improve and promote cultural diversity and enable to understand each other European societies and strengthen international dialogue and cultural cooperation with countries outside Europe.
The formation of the cluster will give more opportunity to work together and to improve and promote the cultural diversity and understanding between Europe and Ethiopia.
It was noted that there are 48 clusters world wide the Cluster established in Addis Ababa is the second next to South African in the Sub-Saharan African countries.
