Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, May 12, 2010 – A high-level international conference on Civil Registration System will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during 13-14 Aug. 2010, the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) announced.
In its statement sent to ENA on Wednesday, the Agency said the international conference will be held at the UN Conference Center under the theme; “Towards Improved Civil Status Information for Efficient Public Administration and Generation of Statistics for National Development and MDGs Monitoring in Africa”.

The two-day conference, which is to discuss on issues related to civil registration in African continent, is expected to attract the ministers, senior officials of statistics offices, and experts from 53 African countries, the diplomatic corps residing in Addis Ababa, representatives from pertinent regional and international agencies, and other invited guests.

According to the statement, CSA organized the high-level conference in collaboration with ECA, AU, UN Statistics Division (UNSD), and other regional and international development partners.
