Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: May 7, 2010- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held talks with Development Commissioner of the European Commission Andris Piebalgs here on Friday.
The discussion was mainly on as to how strengthen the relations between Ethiopia and European Commission.
The two parties discussed among others on climate change, Millennium Development Goal and electric power supply in Ethiopia.
PM Meles briefed the commissioner about African commen position on climate change, Ethiopia’s efforts to meet MDGs, and the ongoing economic growth the country registered in past years in rows.
The premier told the Commissioner that Ethiopia is diligently working to ensure carbon free energy supply.
EU Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs on his part said the Commission is keen to assist Ethiopia in its effort to meet MDGs.
Offering a token of appreciation for PM Meles role played at Copenhagen, he asked him to continue his significant contribution at international fora concerning environment.
