Adulala Resort Holds Grand Opening

Adulala Resort and Spa Bishoftu, EthiopiaAdulala Resort and Spa offers 50 rooms including presidential suites, and marks a total investment of about 150 milliion birr by Dr. Asrat Legesse, an Ethiopian with Russian citizenship.

The owner, Dr. Assrat is previously involved in the hospitality industry in Russia before his return to Ethiopia after 30 years. Adulala Resort sits on the edge of Lake Babogaya, one of the eight lakes in Bishoftu, southeast of Addis Ababa.

From start to finish, building the new resort took about six years. The hotel had a soft opening eight months ago. The grand opening of the resort was held on March 10, in the presence of government officials, diplomats and other guests from the business community.

The new resort is built on 53,000 square meter lot. Services include a business center, fitness room and bars, restaurant, swimming pool, conference halls, spa facilities and sports field. The design of the resort is done by Russian and Ethiopian architects. According to the owner, the resort has conserved the diverse flora and fauna on the site during the construction of the resort.

Currently, the Ethiopian government and the Bishoftu city administration are working together to make the town a major recreation and hospitality hub of Ethiopia, owing to its closeness to the capital of Ethiopia. Its geographical location with the numerous lakes in and around it, as well as its temperate climate has made Bishoftu a prime location for the investors engaged in the hospitality sector.
